Biker Sunday
We celebrated our 1st Annual Biker Sunday at Midland Valley First Church of the Nazarene yesterday. It was a huge success. We had about 200 biker guests join us for the special activities which included a concert, a worship service, a lunch buffet, a Blessing of the Bikes, and a parade ride. The weather was excellent, the food was outstanding, and the fellowship was fantastic. But the Star of the day was Jesus! He showed up in our worship service in a mighty way. It was a blessing to see a sanctuary full of bikers clapping, singing, and raising their hands in worship. At the close of the service, dozens came forward and made decisions to accept Christ as Savior. Not only was the sanctuary full of biker guests, but most of our regular attenders gathered in two other buildings to watch the service by video-link. God moved in those venues also.
I was the recipient of God’s touch this weekend. On Saturday night I became violently ill. My family was concerned, and I couldn’t leave my bed because of nausea and sickness. Fortunately, about 125 people were at the church praying for the Sunday services and were anointing the sanctuary. When word arrived that I was very sick, they anointed a visiting pastor from North Carolina for my healing. When I awoke on Sunday morning, I was weak, but God was Strong! I participated in the Biker Sunday events, preached God’s Word, and led the 30 minute parade of bikes! God is Faithful!
Thanks for your prayers, and for your kind notes of encouragement in my Guest Book. Enjoy the pictures! I love you!
David said it all: I saw God before me for all time. Nothing can shake me; He's right by my side. I'm glad from the inside out, ecstatic; I've pitched my tent in the Land of Hope. I know You'll never dump me in Hades; I'll never even smell the stench of death. You've got my feet on the life-path, with Your face shining sun-joy all around.
