Intercessory Prayer
You have all heard the phrase, “Prayer Works!” Or this one: “Prayer Changes Things”. I have always been a strong believer in the power of prayer, especially Intercessory prayer….praying for others who are in need. The Bible tells us “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective” (James 5:16) I am convinced that the greatest gift you can give to another person is to PRAY for them.
I was raised in a praying family. My parents were Godly examples of prayer, especially my little momma. We call her Mimi. (That’s a picture of her sitting on my Harley at Biker Sunday) She wages war with the devil each and every day for her family. This past weekend she traveled from Nashville to join in a special prayer meeting for Biker Sunday. She helped lead 125 intercessors on Saturday night as they anointed our sanctuary and prayed for souls to be saved on Sunday. As they were praying, word was received that I was very sick at home, so they again approached God’s Throne on my behalf. When I awoke on Sunday, I was a new man! When the altar call was given on Sunday, dozens of bikers were saved! PRAYER WORKS!
What are you praying about? Who are you praying for? Don’t give up! God hears and answers prayer. Do you have a special need? Have you told anyone about it? Enlist some prayer partners today to help bombard heaven for your needs. More importantly, sign up to be a prayer partner for someone else. It is that greatest gift you can give! I love you!
David said it all: I saw God before me for all time. Nothing can shake me; He's right by my side. I'm glad from the inside out, ecstatic; I've pitched my tent in the Land of Hope. I know You'll never dump me in Hades; I'll never even smell the stench of death. You've got my feet on the life-path, with Your face shining sun-joy all around.
