Running With Patience?
I was reading scripture this morning and came across this verse: "Let us run with patience" (Hebrews 12:1 KJV) The wording strikes me as contradictory at first glance. When I think of patience, I think of relaxing, being still, being quiet before the Lord. When I think of running, I think of the opposite of patience. How can we RUN with patience? Actually, the NIV has better phrasing when it says "Run with perseverance". We have a race to run. We have a purpose in life. We have a job to do, no matter what difficult circumstances befall us.
I am frequently asked by my website "partners" if I am still preaching. I am asked if I still keep office hours. The answer is YES! I have cancer, but I have not given up on the race! I come to the office each morning and work as long as God gives me strength. I preach 2 services each Sunday morning. Until my total & complete healing is revealed, I plan to RUN WITH PATIENCE/PERSEVERANCE the race before me, and to God be the Glory!! Are you facing difficult days? Don't curl up and give up living! Keep running the race! With Patience!
Please pray for me today. I have a chemo treatment this afternoon, then I have another cat scan tomorrow morning to check my progress. I love you !

David said it all: I saw God before me for all time. Nothing can shake me; He's right by my side. I'm glad from the inside out, ecstatic; I've pitched my tent in the Land of Hope. I know You'll never dump me in Hades; I'll never even smell the stench of death. You've got my feet on the life-path, with Your face shining sun-joy all around.
