The Body of Christ
This past Saturday, about 35 "angels" wearing tool belts and warm clothes for the 28 degree weather, showed up at my house to install a new stockade fence for my back yard. It was truly a labor of love. A housing contractor, who happens to be Baptist, heard about my cancer and my need and told 3 other building professionals about my need. The four of them volunteered to coordinate a group of church volunteers and would donate all the materials! So on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. our volunteer army arrived to work; 4 Baptists and 30 Nazarenes! We had so much skilled labor that we finished the entire project at 2:00 p.m. The church Biker Ministry provided grilled hamburgers and hotdogs with all the fixins for our lunch. When the foreman was asked why he would get involved in a project like this, he said we are all the family of God, and when a brother is in need we should band together to help!! My heartfelt thanks goes to all the volunteers, but especially the four Baptist Brothers for reaching across denominational lines to do good for another Christian!
Thanks for your prayers this weekend. God helped give me strength and I was able to preach both morning services and God met with us! Pray for my strength and stamina, and for a good appetite this week. I love you!
David said it all: I saw God before me for all time. Nothing can shake me; He's right by my side. I'm glad from the inside out, ecstatic; I've pitched my tent in the Land of Hope. I know You'll never dump me in Hades; I'll never even smell the stench of death. You've got my feet on the life-path, with Your face shining sun-joy all around.
